EFKU and EFTU FSX patches

November 7th, 2009

Here’s a couple of FSX updates for EFKU and EFTU sceneries. Just a quick fix for Kuopio, replacing the old ground with an AFCAD file and fixing some of the textures and surrounding terrain. For EFTU, the ground should be more autogen-friendly now. Both are installed over the released FS9 versions. Please do report of any issues so they’ll get fixed before final release!

Malmi update

October 31st, 2009

Here’s a work in progress update for the FS2004 version of Malmi scenery. It includes the approach light update by Tatu Kantomaa, improved ground textures, some new objects and adjusted ground layout. Also should be fully compatible with Esa Sario’s Helsinki Photoscenery. Extract over a fresh EFHF 2.01 installation.

EFHK 1.6 released

September 12th, 2009

Just uploaded an all-inclusive version 1.6 of the Helsinki-Vantaa scenery, download available at FSNordic. It includes all updates released so far in a single package. New since version 1.5 is the completed terminal construction work, updated ground, lots of objects missing since the very first release, and a functional Visual Docking Guidance System. Read the readme file and requirements carefully before installing!

This will likely remain the definitive EFHK version for FS2004, next will be a completely new version for FSX using the latest scenery techniques. In the meantime, here’s the usual temporary FSX update, just unzip over the base 1.6 installation. Autogen problem still to be addressed.

Helsinki progress

August 27th, 2009

A new work-in-progress version of Helsinki scenery, this one includes some new significant landmarks (Kielotorni and Flamingo in Vantaa, Panorama in Espoo, Sysopen tower in Helsinki). Now also excludes the existing FSX landmarks that I forgot to do in the last one, funny no one noticed and reported it? :)

EFHK August update

August 2nd, 2009

I’ve been working towards a new EFHK release with all my updates in a single file for easy install. Here’s the latest snapshot that includes updated ground, some new objects and the long awaited night textures for the terminal. Also, I’m hopeful it might cure some instability issues too.

This is an all-inclusive patch that you can apply on top of any version, but a clean EFHK 1.0 install is recommended to avoid any incompatibility problems. Download the correct version (FS2004 or FSX) and extract into your EFHK directory.

EFHK FSX update

June 8th, 2009

And here’s the update from yesterday for FSX. Haven’t gotten around to fixing the autogen issue yet, but this version might be a bit easier on the FPS thanks to new taxiway lights. Please do report if you notice any change in performance. Install over a fresh EFHK 1.5 installation.

EFHK June update

June 7th, 2009

Here’s the latest snapshot of EFHK scenery for FS9. A couple of new objects, updated ground layout and some small bug fixes.

Helsinki City update

March 24th, 2009

Here’s a snapshot of the next version of Helsinki City scenery, both for FS2004 and FSX. Some old objects are still to be converted, and a couple of spots need some exclude and flatten attention, but this version should definitely not cause crashes unlike the old 4.0 version. Delete all old Helsinki scenery files before installing.

I’ve also been working on a FSX version of EFHK scenery together with Mikko Lindström. The next version will be radically different and hopefully easier on the FPS. Still plenty of work left, but things are progressing.

Turku released

December 23rd, 2008

The scenery is now available at FSNordic. In addition to the test versions seen here, the scenery features seasonal textures and a bunch of miscellaneous objects. It’s is still far from perfect, I didn’t have enough material for the Border Guard, TNT and maintenance hangars, and the airport is still a bit spartan when it comes to detail. I’ll have to address those at some point.

If you didn’t notice, Oulu scenery is also released thanks to Mikko Lindström’s great efforts. The few buildings I had already finished are included, but the rest is all Mikko’s handicraft. It’s also available at FSNordic.

That’s most of my major projects now released, but surely not completed. I’ll keep posting updates here for any patches in progress. There’s also the smaller airfields (EFAH, EFOP, EFRY) that I’ll need to finish at some point.

It’s been quite a productive year, I hope you’ve enjoyed the updates. Be sure to keep checking for the latest progress on my projects. Until then, Happy Holidays and New Year!

Turku at night

December 18th, 2008

Here’s an update for EFTU adding night textures and approach lights.
